Information Collection

WIKA Instruments Ltd. (WIKA) is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. WIKA collects information from our users at several different points on our website.  Any personal information you provide via our website is collected under the authority of Section 33 of the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act.  We retain the information only for the length of time necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, and use that information only for the purpose for which you provided it.

Privacy

WIKA does not sell any of the information collected on this site to third parties. WIKA may contract with other companies to provide certain services, including credit card processing, shipping, email distribution, market research and promotional services. We provide these companies with only the information they need to perform their services and work closely with them to ensure that your privacy is respected and protected. These companies are prohibited by contract from using this information for their own marketing purposes or from sharing this information with anyone other than WIKA.  This WIKA website Privacy Policy is intended to comply with Canada’s federal privacy laws including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (S.C. 2000, c 5) and the ten key principles of the Canadian Standard Association Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information (CAN/CSA – Q830-96).

Information

We will only contact you by phone or e-mail if you have indicated you would like a representative to contact you. We may also use the address information you provide us or we obtain through third parties to send you information on our company using traditional mail services or e-mail, even if you have indicated that you do not wish to have a representative contact you personally.

Profile

We store information that we collect through cookies and log files to create a profile of our users. This profile is used to tailor a user’s visit to our website and to direct pertinent information to them. We do not share your profile with other third parties.

Cookies

Like most standard website servers we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our website.

Business Transitions

In the event WIKA goes through a business transition, such as a merger, being acquired by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users' personal information will, in most instances, is part of the assets transferred.

Choice/Opt-out

Users who no longer wish to receive promotional communications may opt-out of receiving these communications by contacting us via email at info@wika.ca. Opting out affects only email communication. Persons may receive or continue to receive paper mailings from us or third parties on our behalf.
